Overview

On 12 June 2025, a DarkForums user using the handle SolomonStaff shared what he described as citizen information from the Algerian wilayas of Tindouf and Béchar. The actor claims to have maintained access to Algerian GOV.dz infrastructure for more than six months and to have collected terabytes of data before starting to release it.

What was published

According to the post, the shared records include:

  • Full name and date of birth
  • Father's and mother's names
  • National identity number (NIN)
  • Phone number and email
  • Social address
  • Business name and commercial register details

The actor claims the records concern people described as Polisario-affiliated and states that a version covering the entire country is also in their possession. A download link was provided on a file sharing service.

Risks for affected individuals

  • National identity numbers combined with birth dates enable identity fraud.
  • Commercial register data exposes business ownership and addresses.
  • The claimed scale (country-wide) would amplify the impact if additional releases follow.

What remains unknown

  • The number of records in this release and the total volume of the claimed access.
  • Whether the data is authentic and current.
  • The exact government systems from which the data was copied.

What affected people should do

Residents of Tindouf and Béchar should be alert to identity fraud attempts, monitor administrative correspondence for anomalies, and report suspected misuse of their identity documents to Algerian authorities.
